Li Chen is an associate researcher of Arabic literature. Born in 1939, Li graduated from the Advanced Arabic Translation Class of the Foreign Affairs College in 1962. In 1977, Li transferred to the Oriental Section of the Institute of Foreign Literature, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Li's main works include Modern Arabic Literature and Mysticism. Translations include Children of Gebelawi, Call of the Setting Sun, This Is My Territory. Li also served as the chief editor of works such as Selected Classical Arabic Essays, Arabic Women's Literature, and Babylonian Myths.
