Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) was established in 1986 and is organized by the National Press and Publication Administration and other government departments. It is undertaken by China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation. BIBF has become the second-largest international book fair globally and is currently China's most influential book exhibition platform, as well as the most internationalized book fair in Asia.
The Beijing International Book Fair has attracted over 2,600 exhibitors from more than 100 countries and regions worldwide. It is dedicated to copyright transactions, physical import and export trade, and reading promotion of Chinese and foreign publications, including digital multimedia publications. It has evolved into a large-scale international publishing exchange event covering books, digital media, animation, and other industries.
BIBF actively explores innovative applications of 5G in the publishing field, aiming to create a grand international cultural "cloud" exchange event for the global publishing industry and readers. This event integrates functions such as copyright trading, publishing exhibitions, cultural exchanges, professional seminars, and reading promotion.
This year's BIBF Cloud Book Fair has achieved a transformation and upgrade from traditional flat browsing and communication to a new online interactive exchange. The original content has been deepened, expanded, or adjusted accordingly, forming a new platform for online exhibitions.
The BIBF Cloud Platform has further optimized book fair services based on the functions of the offline book fair. The display function utilizes various digital formats such as graphics, videos, 3D, VR, and panoramic views to guide domestic key publishing units and visitors to focus on annual key theme books, high-quality publications, and the latest publishing achievements from guest countries and exhibitors worldwide. Through the deployment of cloud servers and the embedding of cloud communication modules, as well as multiple settings for book fair activities, it ensures smooth communication between domestic and international exhibitors, helping Chinese and foreign publishing collaborations to develop online and continue offline.
